Scholarship Fund

After many years of tossing the idea around of helping keep athletes in sport, this scholarship idea finally came together.  The Evan Guthrie Fund was created for graduating high school student-athletes throughout the Central Okanagan with the support of the Central Okanagan Foundation. In the first year – 2016 – the fund was specifically available for Mount Boucherie Secondary School, which is where I graduated in 2009. In 2017 and beyond the fund will be available to all graduating students in the Central Okanagan who meet the criteria.

The fund is aimed to support those student-athletes who also participate in non-school sports and who might not be straight A students. These types of criteria open the door to many more students. As a student I was unable to apply for almost every bursary or scholarship because of my marks and for pursuing an out-of-school sport.

The application form can be found HERE. See if you’re eligible and follow the instructions on how to submit your application.

Over the years I’ve received substantial support towards my athletic and academic pursuits and now, as a full-time athlete and part-time student at Okanagan College, I am looking to help student-athletes alleviate some financial stress in order for the athlete to fully concentrate on their sport and academic goals.

If you would like to be involved and support the fund through a tax-deductible donation, or fund raising event, please email me directly: or you can donate directly through this link (If you scroll down under the Donate to this Charity Now tab, then under Community Funds look through the list for the Evan Guthrie Fund):
